Brigitte van Laethum is a talented creative interior designer, decorative painter, and accomplished contractor and instructor with over 30 years of practical experience worldwide, especially in the Middle East. Dedicated to teaching faux finishes in classical and contemporary styles drawn from the rich traditions of fine European decorative arts, she shares her expertise using the latest materials and mediums. Brigitte’s extensive experience allows her to offer hands-on instruction whenever possible. She is now taking her passion to the next level by opening her own painting school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where she will continue to inspire and educate students in the art of decorative painting.

About Brigitte van Laethum

Brigitte Van Laethum was born in Belgium and has lived and worked in the Middle East, with Lebanon as her base for 22 years.

Brigitte shares most of her time now between Belgium and Lebanon. She applies her skills flexibly in both markets as well as internationally.

Brigitte trained at the prestigious University Saint-Luc in Brussels and Post Graduate at the Van Der Kelen Institute, where she received specialist training and qualifications in the full range of classical applications, including wood graining, marbling, gilding, patina, and Trompe L’oeil.

Brigitte has worked extensively with architects, designers, and clients, building a well respected and diverse business, with clients and professionals seeking her expert consultation, advice and expertise on colour, finishes, and technique for their work. Now she brings her expertise, skills and talent to the United Arab Emirates to share her learning and experience with the next wave of talented decorative painters.
